At this week’s meeting, the origins of MAGISNAT and what inspired Dr Bertelli to found this innovative spin-off were discussed.
It can all be attributed to natural molecules, used for the prevention of certain types of diseases, and their beneficial properties.
As early as 1886 with Achille Bertelli, the importance of these molecules for the well-being of the population was discussed.
It was, in fact, the figure of Achille Bertelli, a pioneer in aeronautics and an innovative entrepreneur in the pharmaceutical industry, that inspired and motivated Dr. Matteo Bertelli to found the MAGI Group in Italy in 2006, dedicated to research on eating disorders through omics sciences, particularly genomics, metabolomics and microbiomics.
From which later came the innovative spin-off MAGISNAT, based at Atlanta Tech Park in Peachtree Corner, Atlanta, and the promotion of the Garlive line of dietary supplements, based on natural molecules extracted from olive tree polyphenols.
